Oracle E-Business Suite 11i Certification Program now available

Oracle has just released the details of their new certification programme. According to their certification page:

Based on version 11i of Oracle’s applications and Oracle University E-Business Suite curriculum, application certification requires the successful completion of a series of rigorous online and proctored exams that include real world scenario based questions. The program enables Applications professionals to pursue three certification paths: Oracle 11i Financials Certified Professional Consultant, Oracle 11i Supply Chain Certified Professional Consultant, and Oracle 11i Applications Technology Certified Professional Administrator.

Each path validates and recognizes specific areas of competency within Oracle E-Business Suite 11i applications, usage, and concepts. Application Professionals who earn an E-Business certification credential have the proven skills and training that helps keep projects on time and on budget and leads to a quicker return on investment for customers ultimately improving likelihood of successful product implementations.

I’ve just ordered and received the first CD in the certification series, namely 11i E-Business Suite Essentials for Implementers and will be providing you with some insights into what’s in the training kit shortly.

  1. Richard,

I’d be interetsed in knowing more about the CD training you have just received.  I’ve also started down the certification track - will achieve the technical certification before looking into others.  However, I’ve also been reviewing material on the Essentials for Implementers.  I belong to a professional organization which includes online training that can also be downloaded to a PC (handy when travelling).  Topics include Oracle 11i and there seems to be significant overlap with the certification topics and criteria listed on the Oracle site.  I’ll prepare a blog and/or forum post to spread the word.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was the total cost of the CD you obtained?  Perhaps we can work on a post which compares training materials so readers of the blog can better understand their options when considering certification.

    Regards,
    Michael Siebert

  3. Hi Richard,

In “11i E-Business Suite Essentials for Implementers” exam, there is a topic about “shared entities”. May I ask what is “shared entities” in oracle applications? Would you give me some example of this?

Indeed, would you give me some ideas what is integration points between modules related to the business flow?

    Thanks and regards,
    Jacky

  6. Gyani, the type of certification you require will be dependant on your existing job description. There is certification for financials, supply chain or technical depending on your existing occupation. You should do the certification that meets your short and long term career objectives.
