Download Oracle AIM (Applications Implementation Methodology) Software and White Paper
Oracle AIM (Applications Implementation Methodology) is Oracle’s project management methodology. This post contains links to where you can download Oracle AIM software and an Oracle AIM White Paper.
Oracle AIM consists of a project management methodology together with the underlying documentation templates that support the tasks you perform within this methodology. This combination of a methodology together with documentation templates makes AIM a powerful tool for assisting implementation participants in running and managing projects successfully. The methodology can be used for any other software implementations but obviously the true value of AIM will be only be realised when it is used in conjunction with the Oracle specific document templates. The documentation templates are available in the AIM software and the methodology is clearly outlined in the AIM software documentation.

Download Oracle AIM Software (23.8MB). This software provides you with the methodology as well as documentation templates that are needed to run your Oracle Applications projects. Sadly this product doesn’t seem to have been updated for version 11i. Two tips I should give you about the installation and use of the tool - firstly, it doesn’t seem to work on IE6 so try and install it on IE5.5 or lower. Secondly, make sure that your macro security is set to low in both Word and Excel as AIM will need to run certain startup Macros that install additional menus. The software contains all the documentation you will need to learn how to use the product and you can also download my white paper which will give you a short overview of how AIM works.
The version discussed in this post, namely version 3.0 is the latest version available as far as I know. Oracle does not seem to have updated this software in a long time which is a pity since there are some bugs with the GUI in newer versions of IE. I’m not sure what their future plans are for the product.Posted by Richard Byrom on 09/23 at 04:31 PM

AIM 3.0 doesn’t seem to work with Windows XP. Any ideas?
I have seen add-ins to AIM that provide an update for 11i.Posted by on 01/27 at 06:05 PM
As highlighted in my original post AIM 3.0 doesn’t work on any browser version higher than IE5.5 and the IE browser version in Windows XP is higher than that. I’m sure if you bought the licensed copy of AIM through the Oracle Store you would be able to get the relevant updates to get it working in Windows XP.Posted by Richard Byrom on 03/22 at 09:06 AM
I got a fix from Metalink.Posted by on 03/22 at 01:04 PM
Would you care to share the fix with blog members and also refer to the appropriate Metalink note?Posted by Richard Byrom on 03/22 at 01:44 PM
Didn’t you suggest a purchase of a licensed version of AIM? I am sure that is the best fix.Posted by on 03/22 at 07:26 PM
The issue will affect licensed users of AIM as well as can be seen from the solution to the problem which can be found on Metalink Note 542309.996 entitled Aim ver 3.0 and XP.

COngratulation for your site.
Is the software that you download from this site a full version of AIM ????. Is it a demo version ??? Is it the R11 version ?
The pricing section of this site indicates that AIM cost $ 2,200. COuld you tell me what I get for nthat money ???Posted by on 11/23 at 12:38 PM
Yes, as far as I know its the full version and mainly covers R11, the updates can be downloaded here (OTN logon required). I’m not sure what you would get for the US$2,200 perhaps there would be some dead tree manuals in addition to the software.Posted by Richard Byrom on 11/23 at 04:04 PM

Does anyone know of any papers or sites that compare Oracle’s Methodology to the Unified Process?
GeraldPosted by on 09/06 at 02:20 AM
I am going to download it, hope it will help PM tasks, as inspired by few comments.Posted by hip hop on 08/22 at 04:33 PM
The first sight I caught AIM, I thought it was the AOL instant message.
Downloaded this software and tried to figure out how to use it. If I have questions, I’ll come here for help.Posted by KeinBag on 09/24 at 04:55 AM
Thanks for the same. Am looking at (refined) AIM for Oracle SCM application (ASCP, Demantra) or OTM. If u have one let me know. Because this AIM 3.0 is more useful for Oracle EBS.
We can take the same and modify to suit our needs. But was looking if any best practice is available for the implementation for the above product will be helpful.
Keep the good work, the blog is very knowledgeable.
