The Sr. Oracle Applications DBA will be responsible for designing, deploying and supporting enterprise databases for transactional and analytical applications including Oracle 11i. 

This is a full-time (direct hire) position with a growing privately held company offering competitive salary. Candidates MUST be interested in a perm position! 


All aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
Responsible for evaluating patching requests from development, and communicating constraints, issues and timelines for deployment.
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and Grid Control for 11.5.10 and 10g environments.
Serve as technical lead, Database and Discoverer Administrator.
Develop a clear process and timetable for refreshing the Test, Dev and Clone Oracle Application development instances.
Serve as the primary Oracle Application Architect, tasked in developing strategies for High Availability (HA) and Geographical Disaster Recovery.
Change management including maintenance of multiple development and test environments and deploying approved changes to production.
24x7 production and operational support including pro-active database monitoring, and issue resolution.
Database and application optimization including performance tuning, query optimization and supportability.
Create and maintain support processes and procedures.
Actively participate and contribute to projects involving enterprise systems enhancements
Ability to manage and develop junior DBA resources.


10+ years of Oracle DBA experience with at least 6 years as Oracle Apps DBA.
Extensive experience with all aspects of Oracle Apps (11.0.3/11i) and Oracle Databases (8i/9i/10g/10g RAC) in large scale UNIX & Linux environments.
Must be knowledgeable and experienced with high-availability Oracle concepts/solutions including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, DR/RSync, Hot Standby etc.
Strong understanding of Oracle Apps modules including Financials, Manufacturing and CRM.
Must have strong SQL*PLUS, PL/SQL, database constructs such as procedures/packages/triggers development and optimization experience
Must be knowledgeable and experienced in relational database concepts, Oracle Apps database architecture as well as Oracle database management and development tools including Enterprise Manager and TOAD.
Experience in managing and working through Oracle’s TAR escalation process, applying software patches and upgrading the Oracle Apps environments.
Proven track record of managing multiple enterprise-wide Oracle environments
Strong interpersonal, communication and client-facing skills.
Ability to work closely with users, cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Ability to multitask, be flexible under pressure, and work with changing priorities in a dynamic environment
Team player with hard working “do what it takes” attitude
