Hi,
It is not possible to rollback depreciation after closing the period.

When you run depreciation, Oracle Assets gives you the option of closing the current period if you check the Close Period check box on the Run Depreciation window. If you keep it unchecked it will not close the period.

As regards the second it depends on which version you are working on.  If it is 12 refer note Note:557948.1 in metalink for close process. You can run depreciation without closing the period and run accounting in draft mode.

Earlier version 11i:  You can run the depreciation witout closing period, check if depreciation has been calculated properly, roll back depreciation and run the process again. You can run it as many times as you want till you are satisfied that the depreciation has been calculated properly. Then you can run with the Close period checked. If you transfer FA journals to GL you can still roll back if teh journals are not posted in GL. It is advised not to transfer accounting to GL to avoid complications.
