European Head of IT Shared Services, Buckinghamshire

This leading global corporation is a products powerhouse with a broad portfolio of leading brands. With Europe representing a major area of future growth, and alongside the recent integration of operations and IT, a Head of Shared Services is now needed to lead and develop the new pan-European IT Shared Service strategy. This ¬£multi million high profile strategy, involving Oracle ERP technology, will focus on the successful co-ordination and facilitation of all European key stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support throughout the transition programme. Beyond the transition programme, the role will involve undertaking an active part in wider policy making and overall management of IT. The current environment is recognised as complex and therefore a keen eye for quality, measurement, compliance and potential risk will be essential. As such, strong relationship management skills and the ability to manage the perception of the IT brand in the business are critical along with the ability to successfully manage the ongoing expectation of stakeholders.

Effectiveness in managing a wide range of individuals across a broad spectrum of cultures and geographical locations will be a significant challenge of the role. Therefore strong leadership skills and consistently clear and positive communication skills will play an essential part in the quality and overall performance of the transformation programme.  Since the role represents the opportunity to move into the wider business as well as operate in a high profile, major change programme with a high level of key stakeholder management, a proven track record in managing complex IT change programmes in particular relating to successful data migration activities is critical.

In the context of overall management and delivery of an Oracle ERP environment, familiarity with FMCG/Logistics//Supply Chain Management environments is necessary, along with project management, ITIL, full cycle application development programmes and a high appreciation of legacy and hybrid systems. Knowledge of a range of financial modules and implementation of the supply chain suite of modules or at the very least a good, broad business understanding of the supply chain and order-to-cash processes is essential. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the strength and presence to build critical and productive working relationships across a wide range of individuals within IT and in a multicultural environment.
