I m doing research on evolution of oracle’s ERP application suite and its future.

Where do I find such documents?

I ‘m comparing it with SAP.

Oracle’s web site regarding the applications would be a good place to start:

http://www.oracle.com/applications/home.html

It describes their direction with the applications and acquisitions such as Siebel, PS, JDE, etc.

Forrester and Gartner can also provide research on the topic, but those sites are subscription based.

Thanks Michael, in particular I thought you might want to look at and get an understanding of Oracle Fusion http://www.oracle.com/applications/fusion.html and it’s roadmap

Absolutely, Fusion is the future.  I met John Wookey (SVP of Applications Development) the last time I was at Oracle HQ in April, and he spoke to us regarding the future of Fusion.  I’ll be attending an executive summit early next month, where John will be speaking to the group regarding the progress of Fusion.  Additionally, upgrade strategies to Fusion and R12 will be presented.  I’ll be sure to post a blog on this afterwards.

Last April, Larry Ellison also came and spoke to our group of about 25 people for about an hour and a half!  It was an interesting conversation.  No agenda - he just fielded questions from us regarding a variety of topics.  Five months later, I have come to realize just what a visionary he is.  Many of the things we discussed at the time have come to fruition.  Not that I didn’t regard him as a visionary before, but its not every day you get into a room with one of the wealthiest people in the world.  Its hard to believe he is in his 60’s - he certainly didn’t look it.

Look forward to your comments Michael. I’ve heard Larry’s had a fair amount of work done which is why he possibly looks so young.
