How to reset Demo Data in Oracle 11i E-Business Suite

Hi,

I would like to know how to reset the data, after having installed the Oracle 11i E-Business Suite. The problem is whether a fresh installation must be done or is there a short cut to it?

Sujatha,

Unless you backed up the database after you completed the installation, I believe your only options would be to reinstall or find an untouched instance that you can clone from.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your response. But the initial installation is the demo one, so there are no fresh settings made, only we have added data while practicing which is quite a bit of a junk. We need to remove this.

Sujatha,

I don’t believe there is any way to reset the Vision environment beyond reinstalling.

Take a cold backup of the database after the reinstall, at which point you could restore the DB to reset the instance the next time the data gets corrupt.  If you go this route in the future, you will also need to purge files on the file system, such as concurrent requests, when you ‘reset’ the instance by restoring the DB.
