In workflow builder The icons represent activities, and the arrows represent the
transitions between the activities .

I am unable to create the arrow . So the two icons cannot be connected by (-------------->) sign .

you have to right click on the activity from which u want make the transition and drag the mouse from that activity to the activty to which u want make transition

Yes, you have to right click on the activity from which u want make the transition and drag the mouse from that activity to the activty to which u want make transition. If any lookup is associated to result type of an activity, when you try to draw a transition, you have to provide a value to that transition/path (a valid value from the mapped lookup).
